Good playground as well for the kids!

This was a great spot to stop and hike during a long drive in South Dakota. The quiet trails were narrow at times, but there was a lot of opportunity to explore and make it what you want. I can't wait to come back and explore more!

Beautiful spot, set a few miles from the main highway. Plenty of sites available, each with their own fire pits. We visited in mid Oct, so the fall colors were going strong. There is a small creek running through the campground, with a larger river surrounding the park. Lots of grass and trees providing privacy for each spot. There are a couple vault toilet restrooms, as well as a main shower and restroom building, nothing fancy, but plenty to grab a shower before getting back on the road. While taking a stroll through the park, we saw a nice playground area. We had made a reservation months in advance, with no problem getting into the park.

A great place to take a day and get out in the sun. Among your options here are camping, swimming at a great water hole/river, hiking and rock climbing.

This is a place that would be great for group and family get togethers, with plenty of grass space and grilling stations. Entry fee is worth the visit here.

Amazing climbing and sight-seeing. No bolting allowed! free soloing &trad gear okay. Beautiful little oasis off of I-90! Very inexpensive place to camp and be one with nature. Very safe!! Parks department frequently patrols even when no one is in the office at the entry. Grab some maps and info in the wooden box at the entry and even pay cash at night to sleep over if the bright lights and tons of running trucks at the rest stop don't set you right for sleeping. Plenty of vault toilets. Historic area very close as well.

Beautiful park with some hiking trails. The hikes aren't very extensive, so you could spend an afternoon here if you don't mind sitting down and chatting in nature. It's a small little park, but there is good camping options available if you're looking for a tenting/RVing weekend.
