They have the beginnings of a really good thing. Omar is passionate and a great cook. I hope he and the customers can be patient as this quaint restaurant grows roots.
Service was excellent. 4 of us ordered: Cajun Seafood Pasta, Cheesy Shrimp, Sausage Platter, Jambalaya, a 1/2 order of Mac n Cheese, Macaroons, & Buttermilk Pie. Had to send back both pasta dishes as they were room temp, not hot. Server was very accommodating and brought them back in a timely manner.
The collard soup was delicious! Maybe cut up the leaves in smaller pieces. Salmon and walleye were good. Quirky, eclectic, one-of-a-kind atmosphere. The band was good. Very fun place to be on a Saturday night. And the hummingbird cake was scrumptious! Kudos to the baker!! We will visit again!!!!!
Had mushroom melt salad. Like nothing I have ever had before. Didn't really know what it would taste like. Amazing! Better than expected. Good atmosphere. Great acoustics for talking. Look forward to going back and trying something else.
The Sausage Plate was ok, didn't care for it on lettuce. Everything else was very tasty. The Coconut Macaroons were a little dry but flavorful. Paired well with the smooth tasting brewed coffee.
